Daily Dump: An Elegant Approach to Composting
First it was the name that drew me. It's a head-turner, that's for sure.
Then it was the elegance of both the idea and the web design.
Daily Dump is an idealistic start up in India that makes terra cotta containers for home composting.
The concept is idea branding around the containers that take care of the "How do I do this?" "It's too much hassle" and "Isn't it messy?" objections.
The color scheme of the graphics, coordinated around the terra cotta color at the heart of the approach, along with the simple photography and flat graphics is a nice model for similar design initiatives that are part product, part client education. The flash sequences are well-paced and well-written.
The site seems slightly unfinished at this point and we hope things are going well with them. It's a great name, an auspicious start, and a much better balance of education, communication, and marketing than many product launch efforts with millions of bucks behind them. Good job!
